Viber

Viber is a popular messaging and VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) application that allows users to send text messages, make voice and video calls, and share multimedia content over the Internet. Developed by Viber Media, which is now a subsidiary of Rakuten, Viber has become widely used globally, especially in regions where conventional phone service is less accessible or too costly.

How Viber Works

  1. Account Setup: Users download the Viber app from their app store, create an account using their phone number, and verify it via an SMS code.
  2. Contact Syncing: Viber automatically syncs with the user’s phone contacts who are also using Viber, making it easy to connect with friends and family.
  3. Messaging and Calling: Users can initiate conversations or voice calls by selecting a contact from their list. For calls, they simply tap on the call icon in the chat window.
  4. Media Sharing: Users can select media from their device’s gallery or use the camera feature to share photos and videos in real time.
  5. Group Creation: Users can create group chats by selecting multiple contacts and sending messages to everyone in the group, making it easy to organize discussions.
